overdue.

Goodness it has been a long while since I last posted! Lots of little things have gone on in the last month. So I shall update everyone. :)

Lily turned 8 months old and is just a little ball of energy! She got her first two teeth, on the bottom and now she's working on the top two! She is beginning to change into a little toddler day by day.

Well that photo of our precious Lils brings me to tell you we got family pictures taken a few weekends ago and they are seriously the sweetest pictures we have had taken. Brought tears to my eyes. Kristina Gaines Photography took our pictures and she captured such precious moments for us. We have the absolute pleasure of getting to hang these beautiful photos in our home. Big thank you to her!! Here are just a few of the incredible pictures she took.

They are seriously perfect.

Well spring has sprung so we have started on our outdoor projects! I say we, in reality it's just my manly hubs. :) He started building our pergola in the backyard and it's just awesome. I don't know how he does some of the things he does but, man I am so blessed that he can! He is seriously amazing on so many levels. I could just go on forever about him...I promise I won't.

Still in it's beginning stages but I love it!

So me and Tommy have been talking about visiting different churches lately and to see if anything just grabs ahold of our hearts. And it's really been pulling at my heart lately that it doesn't matter what the "church" gives to us but what we give to her. The church is not a building where you go and spend your Sunday morning and evening. We are to be the church to this lost dark world.  We all have our very own specific gift that was given to us from our Jesus. I urge you, as well as myself, to go and use that precious gift to glorify His name!  Romans 12 is simple and just pure truth. Verses 3-8 jump at me and bring me to my knees.

"For by the grace given me I say to every one of you: Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought, but rather think of yourself with sober judgment, in accordance with the faith God has distributed to each of you. For just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function, so in Christ we, though many, form one body, and each member belongs to all the others. We have different gifts, according to the grace given to each of us. If your gift is prophesying, then prophesy in accordance with your faith; if it is serving, then serve; if it is teaching, then teach; if it is to encourage, then give encouragement; if it is giving, then give generously; if it is to lead, do it diligently; if it is to show mercy, do it cheerfully."

I love that. Honest truth. As me and Tommy continue our journey on finding our church home, I pray that we don't lose sight on what is true. We, sons and daughters of the King, are the church and we are to work along side our brothers and sisters in Christ to reach this broken world.

2 years.

Today is such a precious day, it's me and my handsome husband's 2nd wedding anniversary. What an amazing 2 years of marriage we have already had! Bought our first house, got pregnant, and welcomed our sweet Lily into the world. Very blessed.

I've talked about my sweet man on here before so you all know just how perfect he truly is. But..I can totally add more to the list. So here I go.

He has taught me new things about life and different ways of looking at it. He has shown me a love that I know will never fade. He is probably one of the funniest guys out there. He makes sure I know everyday how loved and cherished I am. What a wonderful wonderful thing to have! He honestly is, as cheesy as it may be, my knight in shining armor.

I love this picture. Holding hands, wiping tears, listening to his brother (he married us) talk to us about how sacred and beautiful marriage is.
"Jaimee, Eph. 5:22 says, "Wives, be subject to you own husbands, as to the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife, as Christ also is the head of the church." But Tommy it also says in Eph. 5:25, "Husbands, love you wives just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself up for her." So Tommy you get to lead and that means you absolutely lay down you life for her." Tommy you are to show Jaimee tenderness, treating her with loving kindness. Jaimee you are to show Tommy respect and trust."
 I love those words.

I am so incredibly excited for what is yet to come in Tommy and I's marriage and life together. I know that it will be one hilarious, tear-filled, and amazing journey. I am so blessed to have been chosen to be his wife. A true honor.

My most favorite favorite FAVORITE words from our ceremony..

"What God has joined together let no man separate. You may kiss your bride."

Happy Anniversary my love.

vintage valentines.

Today was purely amazing. My sweet man took off work so the three of us could spend all of Valentines Day together. So this morning me and Lils made daddy breakfast in bed. Completed with heart shaped toast with strawberry jam.

We made a homemade Valentines card too. Lily put her special touch on it.

Right after breakfast in bed and some sweet hugs we got ready for the day because the hubs was taking me antiquing! Music to my ears! I love finding a good treasure. So I got little miss already in her Valentines Day attire..and oh my..let me just tell you she is just a doll.

Ahh..she is GORGEOUS! Ok ok.. so we go shoppin' and we're having such a great time. Beautiful day, I mean it's the middle of February and I'm wearing sandals..amazing I tell you..amazing. We wander around to an antique furniture store..Oh my gosh, I was in heaven! We found a 1950's record player table..absolutely beautiful. And this is the best part...$25. Can you say SOLD!!! Here it is in it's new home.

It's just perfect. The only tiny tiny tiny thing that is wrong with it is .. the record player won't work. Could totally get it fixed..but hello $$$$ ...So..instead my crafty, manly, sweet, bearded, project-lovin'  husband of mine is turning the guts of the broken record player..into a guitar amp. It doesn't surprise me one single bit. He is always lookin' for a project. Oh that boy. :)

Well our fabulous day ended with me rocking our little valentine to sleep. Doesn't get much better then that folks.

So so so thankful for the precious people in my life. Love them to pieces. I live one incredibly blessed life and don't deserve one bit of it. To God be the glory!! Thank you my gracious gracious Father!

Love those precious ones of mine.

my beautiful one.

I married my husband nearly 2 years ago, February 28th, 2009. It was a beautiful, simple, laid back, very Tommy and Jaimee kind of ceremony. I absolutely loved it. We talked about how a wife is to respect and submit to her husband and how the husband is to have a gentle touch to his wife and protect her. I remember walking down the isle and seeing his face, both of us (along with almost everyone else in the church) having tears roll down our face, just thinking and praising my God for such a beautiful gift. It had just hit me that I have the privilege of being this man's wife, sharing life with Him, having a family with him. So overwhelming, yet peaceful.

I'm just going to brag on my love for a bit. He shows me and now Lily everyday that we are treasures, that he loves us with no end and leads us as a family in God's word. I am in tears right now because I am so so thankful that I am blessed with such a wonderful husband and that our Lily has a daddy that will show her an example of what a godly husband is.

Tommy leads worship for a mid-week college service, and wow what an awesome thing to see your husband worshiping and praising our Father's name. He does an amazing job, and he couldn't be more humble about what he does.

I love getting to see him with Lily, he's already teaching her how loved she is by our Lord. He has a heart softer than a pillow and bigger than the moon. He is the absolute sweetest man, father and husband I have ever met in my life, and yes I know I am somewhat biased. Oh and he's just the cutest bearded man.

Tommy you are an amazing encouragement, husband, leader, daddy, and best friend and have blown me away with your love. I am beyond thankful for you and the many many years we will have together. I love you my beautiful one.

My beloved spoke and said to me,“Arise, my darling, my beautiful one, come with me."

All because of Him.

So I am sitting here nursing my almost 6 months old (Saturday is the big day) Lily and can hardly believe it's already been 6 whole months since her amazing birth. So I am going to tell her little story. So here goes my story telling ability..

In Genesis 3 God talks about how women will feel the (pain) of childbirth. How you percieve this pain will determine how it will affect your labor and delivery.

I started feeling consistent contractions at around 3am July 21st. Tommy called our sister in law, Andra, she was our doula (labor coach) and she came over. The contractions were still pretty far apart so we just hung out at the house. Tommy made us breakfast, we watched movies, told some jokes, just really relaxing. The contractions still weren't that bad so we went to the grocery store and had a little walk, then went and had some lunch at Subway. At around 3pm the contractions picked up, I took a nap and labored on my birth ball. It was amazing laboring at my own home where I was comfortable and completely in control. 7pm rolled around and  the contractions were getting so close together that we decided to head to the hospital. (OU Medical) Checked in and got to the birthing suite. I labored in the bath tub (I actually almost fell asleep in the the tub, I recommend the birthing tub to any pregnant lady), on the birth ball and toilet. It was so wonderful being free from IV's so I could move around as much as I wanted. At about 3am I started pushing, I pushed in a few different positions (On my side..on all fours..sitting up.. I like variety.) until I was in one that felt the best to me. At 4:09am on July 22nd (6 days past my "due date") Lily Mae was born. My midwife put her directly on my chest and me and Tommy finally got to see our sweet girl's face.

Having a natural birth is a beautiful, organic, amazing experience and I am so beyond privileged that I had this experience. Tommy and I  learned a lot about each other in those 2 days, he saw a strength in me that was brand new to him and I relied on his sweet encouraging words and sweet hugs of reassurance that I could do this. Going through labor in this way brought us to a whole new level of love and trust. Truly magical. Knowing that you and your baby worked together to finally meet face to face, feeling so empowered as a woman and having your body be completely in charge, wow, that is such a GREAT thing. And all of this is possible because our gracious God has made us in such a perfect way so that we can give birth. I can do ALL things through Christ Jesus our Lord!!! Amen!

So.. as I sit here with this big 6 month old baby of mine..I feel so honored to have a story like this to tell. I encourage any of you pregnant women who may be reading this, that you can do it momma! Trust your body and know that our Jesus made it perfect for giving birth to your amazing creation.

flowers, food, and family.

This weekend was one of those times where you just want to wrap it up and never forget each precious detail. It all began Friday morning my hubs and I waking up to this beautiful face..

ahh she takes our breath away. Well Friday Tommy took off work and we had ourselves a well needed family day of fun! Such a great time! Laughing, shopping and some great talks!! Then came Saturday and one of my sweet sweet friends, Katie Hooper Croom got married to her love Adam.

Such a beautiful wedding and reminder of our God's love for his children! My prayer is that their marriage continues to be a Christ centered relationship that is spent with them worshiping our sweet Father daily! Welcome to the married life friends, it's a blast and a very special gift from our God. Cheers to you!!

So after the wedding Tommy took me out for a date..
We had so much fun together, it's amazing how much more you can do in a few hours without a crazy little 6 month old! (Confession : Lily was our main conversation topic and we even bought her clothes while on the date..we missed her terribly.)

The weekend ended with Lily explosive pooping in her brand new jeggings, which by the way are ADORABLE!!! (Pictures of those are on their way!) So our wonderful weekend ended with giving our little miss a bath.

Is she not the most precious thing your eyes have ever seen..Oh my! We are in love with our sweet Lily Mae!

Thank you, Thank you, Thank you my gracious Lord for such a blessed life I am privileged with. A husband that is a wonderful example and leader, a daughter that shows me a glimpse of the love You have for Your children and an abundance of friends that I just love to pieces!

Why vintage cupboards?

So why the name? .. well lets break it down. Vintage. I have a love for pretty much anything old, my house is old and almost everything in it is as well. I love the simplicity of the lines to the craziness of the colors. I love the unexpected and authentic look and feel it brings. Cupboards. Well the cupboards in my little kitchen are open shelves .. I love the exposure. You can see everything from my plastic cups to my vintage Pryex. I want this blog to be an open vintage cupboard. You will see the different cupboards of our life. Our home, our precious Lily growing, our family, and even our little garden (that's an upcoming project of mine). I am beyond thrilled to have this blog, getting to share and write and mostly for my sweet grandparents to be able to follow along (they moved to Panama recently) and see the changes in our life.

Let us go into the world today glorifying His name!
